ABOUT THE COOPERS BEERS
Coopers Brewery is Australia’s oldest family owned and run brewery with its history going back to 1862.
Since 1998, Coopers releases a special seasonal brew each Winter, their Vintage Ale.
We’ve been planning this event for the past seven years and have put a keg of the Coopers Vintage Ale aside each year – and we can’t wait to tap them for you this year!
Enjoy a middy of Coopers Vintage Ale from the years 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 – plus Coopers XPA and Coopers Extra Stout throughout the six course degustation event.
These Coopers beers are not available for sale anywhere – so this vertical tasting is your opportunity to let your taste buds travel back in time and explore how the Ales have developed over time.
ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Dr. Tim Cooper is a fifth generation Cooper, with the unusual combination of qualifications in brewing and medicine. Dr. Cooper is the Managing Director and Head Brewer of Coopers Brewery and has also been appointed as president of the largest global professional body representing brewers, distillers, maltsters and cider makers, the Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD), which is based in the UK.
Travelling over from the East Coast, this is a rare opportunity to meet Dr. Cooper and ask him questions throughout the afternoon. We’re very excited to have him host the degustation event on Friday.
Travelling over from Adelaide, Beer Ambassador Adrian will be hosting the degustation event on the Monday. He’s been working for 20+ years with Coopers in various roles and will share his wealth of knowledge from working closely with the brewers and Coopers family on a day to day basis.
ABOUT THE MENU
Our Head Chef has created a special six course degustation menu, matching the different releases of Coopers Vintage. These dishes are not something you have ever seen on The Left Bank menu!

The Left Bank Home Brewers Competition
The Left Bank Home Brewers Competition is your chance to showcase your brewing skills to the Perth community and possibly brew your recipe commercially at Beerland Brewing!
Registrations for the 2019 competition are closed – but you can still be a part by being the judge at the Awards Night.
Home Brewers Awards Night – Wednesday 4th September 2019
Get your tickets now for the 2019 Home Brewers Award – this is your chance to directly influence what will go on tap at The Left Bank 🙂
We’re excited to welcome the six finalists of our 2019 Home Brewers Competition (yet to be announced), who will present their beer submissions to the judges – YOU!
The beers of all finalists will be available as part of a blind tasting, which you will be scoring to help us choose the winner of this years competition. The winner of the competiton will get to brew his beer commercially at Beerland Brewing, which will then go on our tap this summer and feature at our stall at the Fremantle Beer Fest.
The submissions include American Pale Ales, Australian Style Pale Ales and Session Beers – so you can expect a refreshing and tasty range of beers.
Tickets are $10.
Simply book a table for you and your beer buddies online via Eventbrite/Facebook – and if you book individually, please let us know so we can arrange for you and your friends to sit together, as tables will be allocated beforehand.
This is a very different kind of Beer Club..but we hope you’ll join us to discover the hidden brewing talents of Perth!
Please note – since it’ll take a few weeks until the beer of the winner will be reday to be tapped, we’ll feature “Heroes and Villains” as our Beer of the Month in September and their crew will host our October Beer Club!
ABOUT THE COMPETITION
WHY SHOULD I ENTER?
The winner will get to brew a batch of his/her winning recipe with the team at Beerland Brewing, which will then go on tap at The Left Bank in October/November.
The winner will also get to to join The Left Bank team at the Fremantle Beer Fest (8th/9th/10th November 2019) to showcase and sell the winning beer. Rub shoulders with Australia’s best brewers and promote your beer to thousands of beer lovers and industry professionals alike! Who knows where this weekend might lead to?
HOW CAN I REGISTER?

Registrations will close on Friday 12th July 2019 or as soon as the limit of 50 registrations has been reached – whatever occurs sooner.

WHAT SHOULD I BREW?

BY WHEN DO I NEED TO BREW THE BEER?
Beer Submissions will be due between Tuesday 27th and Friday 30th August at The Left Bank. You’re required to submit a sixpack of 330ml stubbies (or the equivalent in in a growler). Should you become a finalist, you’ll need to submit an additional 5 litres of your beer for the Home Brewers Awards Night (4th September).
WHO CHOOSES THE WINNER?
There are two rounds of judging before the winner will be announced. First, there’s an internal judging by the brew team of Beerland Brewing, managed by Master Brewer Ken Arrowsmith, who will judge all beer submissions based on the category classifications. All finalists from the internal judging will then get to present at the Home Brewers Awards Night on Wednesday 4th September 2019. Guests will decide via an anonymous popularity vote who will take home the title.

Join us for Casino Royale 2019 on Friday 9th August, 7pm – proudly supporting Conquer Cystic Fibrosis.
Dust off your best suit or get glamorous in your best cocktail dress, walk along the red carpet, indulge in delicious cocktail food and drinks and enjoy live music, while gambling for a good cause.
All money raised from the evening will go to our charity of choice: Conquer Cystic Fibrosis.
The evening will include live music by Shahirah JAZZ and DJ Marcel, magical entertainment by James Diamond Magic, various gaming tables (with real and funny money), silent auctions, a raffle and an auction of the painting Linzi Carter Art will paint live on the night.
Tickets are $95 + $5 Donation to Conquer Cystic Fibrosis and include a 3 hour beverage package and premium cocktail food.

The dress code for the event is black-tie, so make sure to dress up in your best suit/dress.

History – About Casino Royale
In 2016, we hosted the first Casino Royale – which turned out to be a great success. The upstairs River Bar turned into a Casino, with a range of gambling tables (Poker, Roulette, Black Jack and more). Together with live jazz music, delicious cocktail food and oysters being brought around and unlimited champagne available, it was a fancy evening that all guests in their suits and dresses.
The background behind the event was to support the charity Conquer Cystic Fibrosis, of which The Left Bank’s owner has been a long time supporter. At the end of the night, $1,000 was collected from the gambling tables, which was donated to CCF.
Since then, Casino Royale has become an annual event of The Left Bank. In 2018, the event managed to raise $3,000 for Conquer Cystic Fibrosis.
