A Book Launch – I’m the Best

30.03.2017 – We love being involved in the community and helping to raise money for a good cause!

The East Fremantle Shark’s number 17, Timothy Bristol launched his second children book “I’m The Best” last night here at The Left Bank!

It was a lovely evening in our upstairs River Bar, complemented by free Kids Activities on the Mezzanine for all the little ones running around. Brett Sprigg hosted the evening and chatted to author Timothy about the book and shared some of his own stories growing up. Brett also welcomed Ex-Fremantle Docker and special guest Luke McPharlin on stage.

Centred around the theme of sibling rivalry, “I’m the Best” is based on the character Billy from the first book, Billy the Brilliant. It is a lovely children’s book with illustrations from Timothy’s partner Nathalie.

The charity that was going to benefit from the evening was the

$3 from every book were donated to the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation together with additional funds from the silent auction and raffle, which resulted in around $2,000 in donations.

Besides helping to host the event in our venue and offering a complimentary glass of Prosecco on arrival, we also promised to be donating $1 from every drink sold on the night. After selling approximately 250 drinks on the night, we decided to double that and donate $500 to the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation.

It was a pleasure to be part of this family event and we’d like to thank you everyone that joined us and Tim&Nat (and Stitches of course!) on the night.

Show your support for Tim and Nat by purchasing their book here.

As Tim would say: it’s about feeling good, not just looking good! 🙂

Beer Club is back for 2017!

03.02.2017 – The last couple of months of “summer” have been hectic and fun, but it’s nice to get back into a routine – like having Beer Club every first Thursday of the month!

To kick things of for 2017, we were happy to welcome our friends from Northbridge Brewing Co! Master Brewer Ken Arrowsmith (the famous face of the Emu Bitter cans) hosted the first Beer Club of 2017, presenting the range of Beerland brews. Besides their regular range of Pale Ale, Lager, Kolsch, Wheat and IPA, Ken also presented his latest creation at the time, the limited edition Session Ale. To make it all even better, NBC simply took over all our taps in the River Bar!

It was a great first Beer Club of 2017. We were happy to see lots of familiar and also new faces that night – a room filled with Beer Lovers!

Beer Club in 2017 is a ticketed event – tickets are $10 each and include beer tastings, presentation by the brewer/brewery rep, nibbles and a beer glass to take home! To register, simply head to our Facebook page and confirm on the Beer Club Events page that you’re attending – easy as that!

Stories from behind the scenes, predictions and, of course, the Derby Game were the topics of the day!

Thank you to everyone that joined us! We hope to see you all here again to watch the upcoming games and the Grand Final.

New Breakfast Launch

01.08.2016 – We decided to bring some colour into Perth’s grey winter months, with a new colourful Breakfast Menu.

This years Perth Winter wasn’t nice – way to wet and grey for our liking. So we thought we have to add back some colour into everyone’s life… Our chefs were busy testing, cooking and come up with a lovely new Breakfast Menu which we launched on the 20th July 2016. The idea was to create something colourful, fresh and tasty – and they hit the nail on the head!

Highlights include our “Spiced Pumpkin Pancakes” with Orange Curd, Mascarpone and crushed Walnuts – a great mixture of sweat and fruity, the “Salmon Stack” which includes a potato tortilla (google it, if you imagine a “Wrap” in front of your eyes…) with smoked salmon, Asparagus and Hollandaise and for example the Chorizo and Roast Tomato Bruschetta with Poached Eggs… To see the full menu, click here.

To put the new menu to the test, we thought it would be a great idea to invite some local Perth Breakfast Bloggers. So on a Sunday Morning in July, Bloggers like Foodie Craving, Inexology and Perth Foodie Girls joined us for a morning feast.  And we must say, we were happy with the outcome! Everyone had feedback like “ It was by far the best pancakes I’ve ever had.” from a Pancake Fan like Karina (Foodie Cravings), then you know you’ve done something right….

Breakfast is served every day from 7am – so come and visit us in the morning to try it for yourself!

Casino Royale 2016

09.07.2016 – The first ever Casino Royale Event at The Left Bank – a great night for charity!

Astin Martin’s parked at the entrance, red carpet, champagne on arrival, photo flashlight, jazz music….yes, Friday 8th July 2016 was a special night and a bit more fancy than the average Friday Night at The Left Bank. We hosted our first Casino Royale Night in our upstairs River Bar, which turned into a Casino for one night – all to support the charity Conquer Cystic Fibrosis.

Ticket holders were invited to a fantastic evening – enjoying champagne and canapes all night, listening to Jazz Singer Shahirah and gambling on the different tables. Everyone had the choice to play with cash at the Poker, Black Jack or Crabs Table or to play Roulette with the trillions of ‘Federal Nobama Dollars’ that everyone received upon entry. We were amazed by all the amazing dresses the ladies wore that night – and the effort even the gents made to shine in their best suit.

From the “fun money” Roulette Table, we had three winners at the end of the night, taking away a Magnum Bottle of Giesen Estate Wine, $100 Left Bank Voucher and a bottle of Johnny Walker Gold. However, the real winner of the night was our charity of choice – Conquer Cystic Fibrosis. All the money that was “lost” by the guests of the night, was their win – allowing us to donate $1,000.

We’re excited to host the next Casino Royale Night throughout Winter 2017. More details will be announced closer to the date.
